We believe very strongly in supporting local groups and charities and each year the firm raises funds for local charities through various initiatives including giving talks to groups and organisations in return for a donation as well as giving its time to help those groups.

In the past six years we have supported and raised funds for Devon Air Ambulance, donating over £14,000 towards their valuable work in our area. We continue to support them with advice and fundraising as well as sponsoring their Legacy Officer in her membership of the Institute of Legacy Management.

We are pleased to also support Hospiscare and have sponsored their opera evening here at Cadhay as well as taking part in their Will Fortnight Scheme raising over £6,000.00 for the charity in the last three years.  We are also proud to be part of the Hospiscare Forty Club raising valuable funds to help them continue their operation.

We continue to support local groups through our Community Grant Scheme including the Tipton St John Playing Field Association after the sports pavilion was damaged by vandals and also providing funds towards the new play equipment at the village playing fields.

We were also pleased to support the Ottery St Mary Men’s Shed with funds to help them continue their valuable service at this time.

We continue to offer pro bono advice, support and training to local groups, including the Exmouth Dementia Careers Group, Devon Careers, The Alzheimer’s Society Devon, The Ottery Help Scheme, Later life forum – Ottery St Mary and Mencap.

We believe in supporting local talented sportsmen and women and choose each year to support different sporting disciplines.

We are keen rugby fans and are pleased to sponsor the Sidmouth Rugby Club Ladies Side The Valkyries as they begin their journey to become a top ladies side in Devon.

We are proud to be supporting Mia, a local 14 year old female BMX rider, from the Exeter Eagles BMX Club. Mia was the number one ranked rider in the South West in 2019, as well as being ranked British No.2 and National No.4. This year she will be part coached by British Cycling and is hopeful to be considered for the British Olympic BMX Team as well.

We are pleased to be supporting our office manager Adele as she enters the Classic and Sports Car Series in her historic Mini Markos race car for the 2022 season.  Adele has won various awards last season including Class Winer in the HRCR hill climb and sprint championship and third overall in the BARC Classic Cup.

Armed Forces Covenant

Armed Forces Covenant

East Devon Law is committed to honouring the Armed Forces Covenant and support the Armed Forces Community. We recognise the value that Service Personnel, both Regular and Reservists, Veterans and military families contribute to our business and community. In practical terms we pledge to make appointments available out of normal working hours for the many members of the community who work shift patterns. We also want to support personnel coming out of the Armed Forces who wish to start their own business so we offer, at no cost, 3 half-hour sessions over a three month period for advice and support.
